[Netflix] The first series by Hirokazu Koreeda is a revision of the image transmitted from the novel "Memoirs of a geisha" (1997) that related them to prostitution. There are some recognizable themes of Koreeda's cinema, such as family or absence, the construction of generous family nucleus. Through the luminosity of Nana Mori, the series focuses on the description of the details and the relationships of characters who have some melancholy but always show a positive attitude. There are also notes by Mizoguchi in this perspective that is first external and finally becomes part of the community.
