More so a doc about Maury Terry and his crazy theories than about Berkowitz and the facts themself.

The show is okay, but the title is very deceiving because not only it isn't about the Son(s) of Sam, but it's even less about "a descent into darkness". It's focused on the life and investigation of Maury Terry around the case, not on the case itself. And the "darkness" is just a few pictures of dead dogs and tags on walls.

[Netflix] When the director doesn't believe the story of the protagonist of his own movie, then problems arise. Joshua Zeman presents Maury Terry's theories about the so-called Son of Sam, but always leaving a shadow of doubt (which seems to be confirmed in the epilogue) about his obsession. The proposal, however, is to play with sensationalism to finally boycott the journalist's investigations.

The show is incredibly informative and sheds new light on the case, revealing facts and details that many viewers may not have known. Through interviews with investigators, journalists, and other experts, the series explores the many theories and controversies surrounding the case, and it raises important questions about the criminal justice system and the media's role in shaping public perception. Overall, _The Sons of Sam: A Descent into Darkness_ is an excellent documentary that provides a comprehensive and informative look at one of the most infamous cases in American history.
