We chose this movie because we loved Jason Lee's work on _My Name is Earl_. He does not disappoint here, seemingly playing nearly the same character. Overall the movie is cookie-cutter, you have seen this story dozens of times. There are a few nuances that may make or break it for you. The rehearsal dinner was quite the variable to see James Brolin and Julie Hagerty "stoned" certainly was unexpected and actually fairly funny.
_A Guy Thing_ is a mediocre, by-the-numbers romantic comedy. When Paul wakes up next to a strange woman after a wild batcher party, he tries to hide it from his fiancée, but things get complicated when he discovers that the woman is his fiancée’s cousin. Starring Jason Lee, Julia Stiles, and Selma Blair, the film has a solid cast. However, the plot is formulaic as all get-out; making it painfully predictable. And the comedy is incredibly broad, with a lot of low brow humor. Still, some of the jokes work, and Lee and Stiles are charming and do a good job with the comedy. It’s entertaining and delivers some laughs, but _A Guy Thing_ is completely forgettable.
>"l was talking about fear the other day with someone and it made me realize that l can't remember the last time I've been afraid." According to this movie, a guy thing: cheating and lying. LOL. Not one I will probably ever watch again but I appreciate Julia Stiles being charming in this.
