A bizarre and unsettling absurdity which struggles to translate the satirical energy to the screen. It is unclear at times whether it condemns or celebrates the dark topics and unhealthy caricatures it deals with. The cinematography is uninspired, failing to capture the energy of a live show and there is an awkward juxtaposition between its tone and subject matter create a grotesque, rather than satirical, tone.

Good story, but too much singing of not very good songs.

Weirdly anachronistic mess of nineties choreography and contemporary hey-kids lingo in the libretto with generic musical composition that could be from anywhere. Surprisingly misses the open goal of referencing recognizable eighties hits and sounds and even wardrobe. Then again, I'm not musical audience.
