I was going to rate it a 4, but that ending.

I can't decide if I value this a 6 or 7. The story is recycled from multiple prior movies, nothing special or interesting, a lot of individual character motivation also make little to no sense and in general I just did not care which person got shot or survived or not. some of it seemed like it was intended as a comedy, some just brutal graphic action movie. it's more Miss than Hit.

A delightful mix of subtle and slapstick comedy that will have you laughing out loud. Wahlberg nails the role with his usual charm. The humor is smart it keeps the audience entertained from start to finish.

Play Dirty brings back that mischievous spirit of action cinema that mixes violence, tension and comedy with solid results. Shane Black returns to familiar ground and, while it doesn’t quite reach the sharpness of his best work, it’s entertaining enough and does what it sets out to do. Mark Wahlberg plays a classic antihero, a thief who throws punches as easily as sarcastic one-liners. His chemistry with LaKeith Stanfield adds freshness, keeping things light and fun. The story sticks to Parker’s usual twists—betrayals, complicated heists, shifting loyalties—without letting the pace drop. It may not break new ground and sometimes feels more like a streaming filler than a movie with its own personality, but it works. The dark humor balances the rougher edges of the violence, making the ride smoother and more enjoyable. In the end, it’s a crime thriller that doesn’t reinvent the wheel but delivers enough energy and charm to keep you hooked.

The humour lands like a lead brick, all the characters are unlikeable, the plot is thin as paper and the whole thing is predictable from star to finish, including the main character being a "rapscallion with a heart of gold."
