I saw an advance screening of this and I highly recommend. It kept me interested. Things just keep rolling. What’s next? How do you get out of this one? What are you going to do now? Wait now what? Dynamic and fast-paced. I am not a fan of the ending though.
“Your Lucky Day” earns a middling 5/10, ultimately landing as an average film that struggles to make a lasting impact. While the premise shows promise, the execution feels uneven, with the narrative failing to fully capitalize on its potential. The film features moments of tension and intrigue, but they are often undermined by inconsistent pacing and underdeveloped characters. The performances are serviceable, though none truly stand out, leaving much of the emotional weight feeling flat. The movie has a few bright spots in terms of cinematography and occasional bursts of clever dialogue, but they aren’t enough to elevate it beyond a typical, forgettable experience. Overall, “Your Lucky Day” isn’t a total misfire, but it doesn’t do much to distinguish itself either, making it a watchable but ultimately unremarkable offering.
had to give an extra star for Garza (yum!) but then take one away for that stupid ending!
Your Lucky Day is like getting three numbers in the lottery: not too bad but had the potential to be a lot more. A dick wins the lottery in a convenience store and all hell breaks loose. In what feels like a spiritual step-cousin of Good Time (2017) the twists come quick and keep the film jumping but some of them are such a reach that they pulled me out of the film.
RIP Angus Cloud Decent crime thriller. A few weaknesses in the writing and the final act felt untidy. Also, I'm glad he never kicked the baby otherwise that would have been fucked up.
