A decent documentary that, much like the films themselves, gets a bit tedious and overstays it’s welcome. It’s great that they kind of admit some mistakes with the later installments but doesn’t add much insight besides “we had a release date set and needed to make a movie”. Also knowing how the latest turned out and seeing that kind of end the doc, it ends on a sour note.
This is a solid documentary. I had a lot of fun watching this. It doesn't feel too long or repetitive. I find it interesting witnessing the excitement from the team of the first film knowing it's doing so well, hearing the filmmakers discuss the creative processes and the technical challanges of each film in the franchise, also hearing the experiences from the cast. You can tell they had so much fun making these films. There's some new footages and alternate endings to keep it interesting. It's cool of them to mention McPherson Tape and Cannibal Holocaust in the beginning. Also this reminds me how awful Ghost Dimension was.
