Bro I was crying watching this movie, this right here is a master piece.
>"My son is dying, and I'm broke. If I don't qualify for Medicare, who the hell does??" This focuses on an important topic in this country. I know we don't have all the answers but it should be easier to save lives than this. While it does have an interesting premise, it is a little corny. I am bumping it by 1 point because Denzel always makes any film better.
A 10/10 movie, but
I laughed the manners the heart was handled, in a bag of water (wtf) and how the doctor manage the heart, it was 2002, many hart operation was made at this time, it's not something new.
Really heartbreaking movie 7,8/10!
"I AM NOT GOING TO BURY MY SON! MY SON IS GOING TO BURY ME!" John Q is movie that is totally carried by Denzel Washington. He's good and his performance will suck you in like he does with most of the movies he's in. John Q is about John Archibald (Denzel Washington) and Denise Archibald (Kimberly Elise) trying to get heart surgery for their son Mike. The treatment is very expensive and their insurance doesn't cover the costs. This means John will go very far to get his son a new heart. We get a good cast with James Woods, Robert Duvall, Ray Liotta, Anne Heche and Shawn Hatosy. It goes how you expect it to go and it ends at the right time. I felt like this movie wants to get a point across about the Healthcare system in the U.S.A. and it is basically screaming that it isn't good at all but I don't really know anything about their system because I'm blessed with our Healthcare system over here in the Netherlands. All in all, John Q is a good film and a sure watch for any Denzel fans out there.
