This is a movie that feels like a work of skill and genuine passion. Tbh I really wasn't expecting much, but damn! A real pleasant surprise. A drama that just gets under your skin, Gabrielle Union wears her character in a frightfully natural way. And the boy stumes and eventually walks into good decisions like a decent man. It works even better for not having all that big budget airbrushing. Excellent movie that takes you through it and then some.
Powerfully acted and emotionally moving story.
It’s a Bratton biopic, honey and we’re here for it. This makes me feel like I want more Jeremy pope. He was so good in Hollywood. Beautiful as ever here. He’s strong and he’s soft.
An interesting low budget seeming film about the reality of homosexuals in the service surrounded by the main character as he makes a bold decision after living on the streets as a homo to join the Marines. If it wasn't for the very little build up and introduction of the main character before diving into the main plot this would be a lot better film. Because of it the audience has to get to know the character while also following along the emotional complex subtext behind the outer plot shell. But all in all it was a good watch that kept you on the edge of your seat.
