Making money from immigrants.. Ok.

Yet another denunciation of postmodern social decay by Ken Loach, _It's a Free World..._ brings the hardship of the precariat to the big screen. He does so by drawing parallels between the misadventures of a brave (as well as shameless) single mother and those of a desperate illegal migrant class, both of whom share the commonality of having nothing left to lose. The result is ambitious but does not reach the peaks of the director's other, far more impactful works. Still enjoyable and worth seeing to delve deeper into Loach's filmography.
