This movie is super unrealistic with cheesy sets and goofy production. And i LOVED it. The acting was great and I believed the chemistry of the two main characters. Full disclosure, my husband walked out on it half way through with clear instructions of “don’t tell me how it ends because I don’t care,” so it’s clearly not for everyone. But the movie sure was for me!
This was NOTHING like I was expecting, in fact I had no idea what to expect, but I found myself glued to it. Anthony Mackie and Zoe Chao had an onscreen chemistry that was just perfect, serious kudos to the casting director. Watch this movie, it is an amazingly fun romantic sci-fi comedy with A LOT of goofy science, but it is sci-fi so I just enjoyed the movie!
Anthony Mackie and Zoe Chao have great chemistry. The visuals were cool but at the end of the movie it doesn’t stand out from other romcoms with its generic ending.
In many ways this movie resembled so many movies that came before it. After all, how many times have we seen the story where two friends contemplate taking their friendship to another level? This movie that went down so many well-travelled roads had no business being this entertaining, and I loved it. While the idea of the spaceship is not conventional, it allowed the director to create a dreamy atmosphere in which the story plays out. At first I thought the surroundings were kind of cheesy, but then I got it. The movie wouldn't have worked as well as it did if it was set on the Starship Enterprise. Part of the genius of this movie was the timing of the event. I think it is safe to say that the viewer had expected it to be at a different time than it was. The characters made a choice in terms of timing, and that choice gave us a clear view into their mindset and what would happen later in the movie. This may have been the most original part of the movie. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies.com
So I've had this on my list to watch for a while and finally did back in June. I must say I was honestly suprized the first few minutes I was ready to turn it off because it seemed weird but it was actually a really good movie and super cute. The cinematography and music were excellent. ❤
