I love this movie. Seriously, Zach Braff is amazing in it, same goes for all the other actors - they play their part magnificently and the music used in this is lovely. Easily one of my highest ranked movies.
Micahel doesn't like change. He doesn't want to get married because it's a change. He doesn't want the baby because that means change. They had to write an unrealistic character that convinces him to cheat because in reality, he wouldn't have cheated - he doesn't like change - they would have just continued the relationship like Jenna's parents. Jenna's parents have to convice her to keep going with him because Michael and Jenna's reality was their reality, they can't let the younger couple break up because they can't face their own identical relationship. They just went back to how it was before. Even the waiting outside for Jenna was because he wants to go back to how it was before. There was no resolution to the relationship problems written in the movie.
