Like a drunken white water rafter, this was very uneven and changed course midstream. This is the true story of a woman on the far right who -- after her cop husband dies -- falls in love with a refugee at the camp where she volunteers. The problem is, the first half is interesting (even if they downplay the political affiliations of the family) and offers insight into the Jungle (a refugee shanty town that existed in Calais, France 2015- 2016). A movie about a woman on the far right who has a change of heart and begins helping refugees and immigrants? Sign me up! Sadly, once the romance develops between Béatrice Huret (played impeccably by French Queen Marina Foïs) and an Iranian refugee, the compelling story is abandoned like an idiot stepchild. Turns out A Change of Heart shouldn't have had one.
