A movie that has a great promise, but does not maintain any focus and with the unfolding of the plot is boring, lousy.
Now this is a pretty good Green Lantern animated feature film. Not an origin story, varied plot, focuses on characters. Also has the Alan Moore "Mogo doesn't socialize" story. The ending is kind of anti-climactic, of course. But, overall, a worthy attempt.
The anthology film _Green Lantern: Emerald Knights_ is an entertaining and compelling animated feature about one of the landmark properties of DC Comics. A rip in the fabric of space threatens to unleash one of the greatest threats to the Green Lantern Corps.; meanwhile Hal Jordan trains his newest protégée and educates her on the history of the Corps. Nathan Fillion, Jason Isaacs, and Elisabeth Moss lead the voice cast and deliver good performances. Additionally, the animation style has a lot of color and crispness to it. Still, the episodic storytelling is formulaic and weakens the overall plot. _Green Lantern: Emerald Knights_ does an impressive job at creating an interesting mythology for the series, but it suffers (as most anthologies do) from a lack of cohesion.
I was surprised with the end credit that Nathan Fillion was one of the voice actors and then it hit me that he's Hal Jordan in this film. As we know today that he has been casted as Guy Garner in Superman for DCU the turn around of him becoming a real-life Green Lantern
After a 2nd watching, I get the story now. It's more a history lesson than plot. The baddie is just a side attraction in this one. Good stuff.
