Thee, no dudara en aceptar el trabajo y comprarse una casa en una urbanización del lugar, para poder cumplir finalmente su sueno junto a su familia. A sluggish supernatural horror that gets buried under uninteresting family drama and characters I never cared about. I watched this film because of the upcoming Indonesian remake, and honestly, this was a pretty underwhelming experience. The setup is familiar enough, a struggling family moves into a new housing complex only to realize the place may be haunted, but the film never does much to make that premise feel fresh or particularly exciting. There are a few genuinely creepy moments, and the atmosphere occasionally works when the film fully leans into the supernatural side. Some of the ghost scenes create a decent sense of dread. Unfortunately, those moments are constantly interrupted by family drama that I found far less engaging. That is easily my biggest issue here. The film clearly wants the emotional conflict within the family to carry as much weight as the horror, but the characters are not interesting or likable enough for that to work. Their problems quickly become repetitive, and instead of feeling emotionally invested, I mostly felt exhausted waiting for the story to move forward. The pacing does not help either. This feels much longer than it needs to be, with too many scenes dragging out the same conflicts without adding much depth. Overall, this is fairly generic. Hopefully the Indonesian remake finds a way to make the characters more compelling and the horror more consistently engaging.
A Funtastic Thai Horror Movie
What makes this movie special is the fact that it's not truly a horror movie... The "human" part is the most interesting thing about it, and it was actually pretty sad. I really enjoyed it.
