Learning from the previous film, **Kim Han-min** knows exactly how to start the prequel of **The Admiral: Roaring Currents**. Opening with an intense sea battle, of course this is satisfying for those who expect a stunning fight, especially if you have watched **The Admiral**, there's nothing wrong with expecting more, right? **Kim Han-min** knows exactly how to satisfy the audience in the fight of Yi Sun-shin in this film. How **Kim Han-min** takes those dramatic moments and succeeds in touching the hearts of the audience. Of course the **Hansan: Rising Dragon** film also features Yi Sun-shin's strategies which are well packaged. Unfortunately, **Kim Han-min** fails to develop several subplots from his supporting characters. Even though the subplot is quite influential—or could be a fitting addition—to the story, it is left floating without any further exploration. This instead makes the supporting characters just passing characters or maybe even have no effect, even though from these characters the message about struggle can be conveyed.
These legendary historical events continues at outstanding phase, continuesly recapping the story of Yi Sun Shin in this prequel. This film has been an outstanding continuation prequel from this fantastic tale. As to how Yi Sun Shin, who fought for his homeland over and over again having the same core feeling exactly in all aspects from previous movie named “Roaring Currents” gave in all accords.
