The movie was nice, but Kristen Stewart is a really bad actress, she kept the same face during the entire movie...
Wasnt as bad as people made it out to be
I could feel that they were good ideas behind this movie but the realisation of them is... very poor.
This is just a darker retelling of the Snow White story that we are all so familiar with. The obvious hook here is to tell the story using the hottest actors and actresses in all of Movie Land. Chris Hemsworth is now officially over-exposed and Kristen Stewart plays the lead role of "the Fairest of Them All". Yeah, right. "Fairest" as in acting talent. I am also personally ranking medieval tales #2 on my list of tired trends in movies, hot on the heels of stories about the zombie apocalypse. Even for its two major drawbacks which I just mentioned, it did win some points for some great visuals and for a really fun performance by Charlize Theron as the evil Queen Ravenna.
The movie is, visually, beautiful. Charlize is FANTASTIC! The dwarves are perfect (great casting)! The rest is... blah. Stewart isn't believable (prettier than Charlize Theron? I'm sorry. I don't like to judge by looks but that IS the main premise and... uh.. No. In no universe ever.) Hemsworth's accent made me go "Huh? What IS he supposed to sound like?!". And the plot was weak with more holes than swiss cheese. Avoid.
