High heels, legwarmers, big hair, and a VERY high cut leotard… …and people wonder why I love the 80s so much. Well, there are other reasons to love the 80s, of course. Like slashers so bad they are actually quite entertaining, and, of course, synth pop soundtracks, but I recon the high cut leotard is the best reason of them all. So… Killer Workout… It has everything mentioned above, so it has to be entertaining…right? It is entertaining, and there's a LOT of eye candy, but there is some atrocious acting here that really ruins my enjoyment at times, but in the end…who cares. Killer Workout is an 80s low-budget slasher for crying out loud, and they are always worth a watch….right?!?
The plot is flimsy, and the acting is wooden enough to build a sauna, and the killer’s weapon of choice (a giant safety pin!) might be the least intimidating thing to come out of the ’80s. But the film makes up for its shortcomings with pure camp. Is it good? Not exactly. Is it entertaining? Absolutely, especially if you enjoy your horror cheesy, sweaty, and borderline nonsensical.
