Thankfully, this didn't pull on the heartstrings in a manipulative way. Instead, it told the story of Joe and Jadin in a simple way and earned its status as a heartbreaker without being overly sentimental. A good film although it did seem to jump through certain scenes quite quickly. Despite this, the film is a reminder of tolerance, forgiveness, and the need to seek support when life becomes too much to bear. It resonated with me on a personal level and I'm sure it will resonate with many more.
"Everybody's against bullying, right? " Very strange flashback way of telling a story that makes everything confusing. Maybe the movie is saying the dad had an actual terrible relationship with his son, but made up for it by bonding with him in his imagination? Maybe the son didn't exist and this a movie about mental illness. That makes more sense to explain why the dad went on a long trip pushing a shopping cart down the highway.
Wow what a beautiful movie. Definately must watch!
This is well worth a watch - a very sad tale told in a way that both uplifts and depresses in equal measure.
