This didn't quite live up to expectations. It's a good film but it very much feels like an inferior version of one of Fukasaku's yakuza masterpieces. The story is typical of the genre but has a lot of characters in it and once or twice I got confused as to who was who. It also has issues with uneven tone. Some shitty humour is intermittently injected into the screenplay but it doesn't really work. It's OK but I can't help comparing it to Fukasaku's films.
