Lacey Chabert stars in _Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For_, the premier of a new Hallmark Mystery Movie series. When an art gallery owner is murdered during an art heist, a crossword editor discovers that the thieves have been communicating through her newspaper’s crosswords. Chabert gives her usual charming performance, but the rest of the cast is pretty weak. The script is fairly boilerplate, however the director fails to create any real suspense or tension as clues are uncovered and suspects are revealed. Still, by Hallmark standards, _Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For_ is an entertaining TV movie with a bit of intrigue.

If Hallmark mysteries were a factory, Lacey Chabert would be Employee of the Month. Puts in another solid day of work here.
