Cameron Diaz being the worst teacher in the world. Literally. Elizabeth Halsey is selfish, lazy, materialistic and only wants to get a boob job to catch a rich man. She has no redeeming qualities and that's... refreshing? At least she doesn't pretend to be a good person.
The plot of trying to hook up with Justin Timberlake while Justin Long chases her is predictable. Obviously she ends up with the one she didn't want at first. Zero surprise.
It has its funny moments, but it's a pretty forgettable comedy.
Very reminiscent of the mid 2000's comedies that came before it, this raunchy shtick was running thin by 2011. While I quite enjoy these movies, there is undeniably better movies of the same realm that are easier to recommend for various reasons. Rating: 2.5/5 - 7/10 - Worth Watching
Funny in patches, forgettable overall. Cameron Diaz fully commits to being the worst person in every room and honestly that energy carries the film further than it deserves. When she's awful, she's entertaining. The problem is the script runs out of ideas before it runs out of runtime. The jokes hit maybe half the time. The other half just sits there. One-time watch. Doesn't ask much from you and gives about as much back.
The only redeeming quality of this movie was that it featured a young Kaitlyn Dever and a young Kathryn Newton, before they went on to stellar careers. Justin Timberlake was intolerable in this, and Cameron Diaz's character wasn't worth rooting for. Unfortunately, this film was neither funny nor entertaining.
I was not great, but it had its charm. and while not a barrel of laughs, it did make me smile more than once. The premises are good, and Cameron Diaz is breathing life to her character, the rest of the cast is rather good too. The plot however is not the best, but all in all an enjoyable comedy.
