This is an excellent film that explores morality in the face of profound and unrelenting violence, particularly in context of the ambiguity of trying to operate within the confines of both indigenous and colonial law. The film also works beautifully as a western / thriller, with high tension throughout. Great performances, great script and breathtaking cinematography make this a standout Australian film.

A hard, direct, authentic film. A great testimony to the brutality of the white man towards ancient cultures. A film that pays homage to the depth of Aboriginal culture, even with a traditional soundtrack. And what about the majesty of Australian nature. A must-see film.

Excellent movie, be sure to turn the subtitles on. Audio is English, but some parts are not. I'm surprised the ratings are not higher.
