Brahmastra is basically a shit movie with shitty writing, more shitty acting, brightest contrasting colours that can blind you forever, loud dialogue delivery can leave you deaf for eternity and a cheap weird laser show of random bullshit. The story mainly focuses on nothing but vfx, vfx, vfx and vfx. Wasted all the cameos. Songs are average. BGM is decent. And dear Alia, stop overacting and Ranbir bhai, stay 69km away from action movies. Tumse na ho payega ji. Nahi ho raha hai. Overall, it's not even one time watch so ignore it. OTT pe dekh lena. And the movie is not at all rooted to our Hindu culture. Not even close. So kinda made a mockery out of their own promotional strategy. 1/5 max.
Valiant, Ambitious , Visually Spectacular Ayan Mukerji's earnest dedication and hardwork builds up to a product which we sincerely wanted to excel in such a tough time for Bollywood and does it deliver? I would say yes and no at the same time. Brahmastra Part 1 Shiva is no masterpiece, its not the best film of the year nor has it has the best performance by the leads but it has a heart, a vision and it presents us with something which is unseen in the Indian film industry . A cinematic marvel from India which rides on the essence of our own history, elements of our own mythologies and a sincere production team trying to be at their creative best. Brahmastra is anchored by an extremely efficient performance by Ranbir, it offers you powerful visuals, unique theme, a soulful sound design and a promising universe. The cinematography is top notch and the direction is commendable. An ensemble cast as magical as this is unseen in any other films before. The film's shortcomings are its conflicted screenplay, we all wanted the astraverse universe to be explored more but the films drifts to become a primitive love story than a fantasy action epic. The dialogues are relatively poor at many places and gripes your experience. To my surprise, Alia's performance was underwhelming as she seemed to force her performance and it came out very unnatural. The screenplay is a tiny bit dragged because of excessive screen space for the romance, whom most people aren't interested in. Overall, Brahmastra Part 1 is one crazy, enchanting and captivating experience. The powerful VFX and stunning special appearances makes the film a praiseworthy attempt to explore such risky genres. The film is bound to receive polarising views about it, but I would still suggest others to definitely go and experience this in the best, biggest display in theatres near you. This is easily the most ambitious Bollywood movie in terms of VFX and overall production value. There are a lot of great things I can say about it but the one thing that really brings it down is the romance between the leads. It's cringe-inducing and feels quite unnatural as it constantly gets in the way of the movie's lore and world building. The movie starts off great with an amazing fight scene but after that it really fails to reach that same level. The ending sequence is epic in every sense but felt a bit all over the place. Overall, I don't hate it but I feel like its weak points really brings it down.
I knew the movie was not good but little did I know it will be a utter trash . Besides the lack of a storyline, character development and acting chops, what lets its down are the dialogues .It has easily the worst cringest dailogues ever .Besides that everyone acted very poorly especiallly the ones in the lead .Ranvir Kapoor never looked like an action hero for sure and the action choreography was terribly bad .Vfx was good. Background score is good but unnecessary songs make horrible impact.. In a nutshell the movie is filled with many illogical scenes + bad acting + cringeworthy dialogues + lack of character development/chemistry between the mcs + bad script
A wonderful attempt by Ayan where the references and inspirations from bigger Hollywood Universes is evident. Throughout the movie you would be expecting more spectacle to happen and at times it’s frustrating and feels unnecessary sequences has been patched in. Such as songs, and not meeting the hype and expectations Ayan sets for some characters. I have watched this in IMAX 3D and some of the shots felt they were made specifically to use and remind the audience that it’s a 3D movie. Could have been better, in terms of the wait we had before the release and hype of the movie. Yet, you can definitely watch it once to see for yourself on the hard work Ayan has put in brining a Super Hero Universe to Indian Cinema.
