surreal and curious; some of the images are strange

After watching this with the Criterion commentary, I gained a slight bit more appreciation for what was happening here, but not much. A very sparse (and mercifully brief) telling of a schoolboy revolt, this feels like another in a long line of "you had to be there" movies from the French that I have a hard time connecting with. It was banned, so it must have stirred something in somebody-but it reads as incredibly innocuous with modern eyes. I tend to struggle with French critiques of the social class system, and this was no different.
