(FILMAFFINITY)

That final shot of Cooper in the elevator is haunting.
>"One might propose that I am either insanely brave or quite insane. I'd answer neither. I'd say, insanely loyal. Take your pick. There's insanity in all the answers." This is a slow, but good spy thriller. Ryan Phillippe did well but Chris Cooper's performance is a standout here. The fact that this is a true story and he is based off of a real person made it really interesting to me. If you like spy thrillers based on true stories, check this out.
An oldie but goodie! And true! The technology might be a little bit outdated than this, but it's a great spy movie. Highly recommended.
An excellent spy thriller based on real events. Although the movie takes quite a while to find its rhythm, it draws you deeper into the world of spies the longer it runs. An excellent movie of the kind with brilliant acting performances.
A taut espionage thriller made by the performances of the two leads. Hansen's arrest was a bit overshadowed for me by the bigger catastrophic blow to the United States later in 2001, and I kinda forgot about this until the film's marketing push began. So, while I know this is a heavily dramatized retelling of the events leading to his arrest and not perfectly reflective of what really happened, this did inform me on a lot of actual details about the man that I might've learned but were quickly forgotten after that September... Chris Cooper is at his best in a role like this and Ryan Phillippe doesn't rattle going toe-to-toe with such a powerhouse of an actor like Cooper. This ain't Three Days of the Condor or The Conversation kind of espionage thriller, but if you like the genre and Chris Cooper, this won't disappoint!
