Amazing film. Surprised that it doesn't get the attention it deserves. Not enough people have seen it and that is a shame. Deserves to be talked about a lot more. Great performances by cruz and Depp. Highly recommended.

You really feel like you’re watching Jung’s journey, and Depp’s performance is one of the best parts of the film. The story is eye-opening and very intriguing. It shows what George Jung’s life was like, from his big successes to the problems he faced. Superb movie, just goes to show that, often time, truth really is stranger than fiction. Based on a true story, this movie shows the rise and fall of one of the greatest cocaine traffickers in history. Johnny Depp was absolutely great, as was Penelope Cruz. (Kudos to Cruz for genuinely making you despise her character.) Although the movie is a bit dated, the story never will be, and truth be told, I absolutely loved seeing the old 60's and 70's clothes, cars, furnishings, etc. Can't say you'd ever want to watch this more than once but it's absolutely worth seeing at least once. Surprised to see that it didn't get really high marks...but not that surprised, since it exposed Hollywood as the drug-snorting above-the-law idiots they really are.
