Narra la historia de Catherine Weldon (Jessica Chastain), una mujer que se mudó de Brooklyn a una reserva india en Dakota para ayudar al jefe Sioux, Sitting Bull, a intentar mantener las tierras para su pueblo. Weldon escribió cartas al gobierno federal en nombre de Sitting Bull y vivió en la tierra durante varios años con su hijo.

The only thing that would have made this film better is when the Indians were talking in their native tongue to have the words on the screen so you knew what they were saying.
I hope this history never repeats itself, ever again….
I like Jessica Chastain. I watch a movie because of her. Technically this is a good movie. Beautiful scenery and good, albeit not great, acting. But....I can't help but feeling let down by the story. It feels like they wanted to deliver the message yet were afraid to go all the way. This story is too important to waste it on a quasi romance. [spoiler] Yes, the scene when the horse starts dancing has power and is gripping. But throwing in a couple of original pictures and some lines before the credits just wasn't enough. [/spoiler]
