[JFF+ '23] A depiction of rural life in central Japan that reflects the community spirit of people who face a harsh winter and difficult livelihood every year. The director adopts the point of view of those who return to these rural populations from the big cities, a way back that faces a different lifestyle, in which the passage of time is slow and is sustained by collective effort and sense of camaraderie. Although at times it lingers too much on scenes of everyday life, the film manages to convey existence that blends in with the natural environment.
