TSVoMW is textbook giallo. What you get is a thriller/mystery. Although there are elements of horror here, don't go in expecting gore. I was pretty surprised with the twists, and overall, the movie is good. However, it drags in the second act, so much that I was starting to get distracted. It's a bad sign if not even Fenech boob can hold my attention. Regardless, I'd still call this a must watch for fans of the genre. Another unexpected bonus was that the main piece of music was recycled by Quentin Tarantino for _Kill Bill vol 2_. The movie suffers under its own weight, but is saved by the third act. If some of the fat had been trimmed, this would be a masterpiece.
I’m not a big fan of giallo films but this one is alright. Some interesting shots/filming techniques, some twists at the end but the film also drags at times. I wouldn’t rewatch it but ok for a single viewing.
My second Sergio Martino film and this is a really engaging piece of work. I wasn't expecting much from this film but it turns out to be one of the better gialli I've seen. A lot of boxes getting checked in this one. It's wonderfully melodramatic and so thoroughly enjoyable. It brings all the sleaze I love in gialli and there's plenty of suspense with a healthy dose of plot twists to keep your attention. A great sense of style and camera shots make it super enthralling. The pace and score also help a lot. Edwige Fenech looks absolutely stunning and gives a fantastic performance.
