A mediocre try on the subject that is only recommended for fans of the monster.

“The Mummy’s on the loose and he’s dancin’ with the Devil” in _The Mummy’s Curse_. When an archeologist tracks the course of the swamp that the mummy sank into with the reincarnated Princess Ananka, he comes across a construction site draining a section of the swamp and comes to believe that the mummy is loose again; meanwhile, Princess Ananka emerges from the swamp restored to her younger self, but with no memory of who she is. Lon Chaney Jr. gives a phoned in performance and the characters are all broad stereotypes. And the switch from the New England setting to the Deep South is quite jarring. However, there’s a bit of intrigue to the Ananka mystery and some exciting fight scenes. Yet while it has its moments, _The Mummy’s Curse_ is a mess from start to finish.
