You know the old expression "it's so bad it's good"? Well, that's not applicable to this pile of crap disguised as a movie. The acting is awful, the characters are stupid, the costumes are ridiculous, the story sucks, and the effects are horrible. Other than that it was pretty good. More often than not, I like B-Movies. But this is seriously worthless. I fell asleep trying to watch this. Everything about it was cheap, dumb, and gross. Yes, I know that's usually the point with Roger Corman's movies, but that doesn't automatically make them hip or endearing.
This is a classic. All horror sci-fi fans should be acquainted with this film. The cast and crew are almost all industry famous. The movie is 80s dark, ominous and uber weird. It makes for a good time.
Alien for the poor … But also the movie where James Cameron learnt about making space-alien movies as second unit director and production designer. This lead to the great “Aliens” and “Terminator”. For the rest, this B-movie shows just how bad and cheesy special effects can be. For fans.
Classic so bad it’s good. The costumes with the shop lights on their shoulders. The God awful special effects. And it has the My Favorite Martian actor. Side note, it’s even better when you watch it high.
This has very few redeeming qualities. The pyramid set design is cool. I laughed at the monster attack sound that sounded like Scooby Doo eating a sandwich. All the characters are horrible at their jobs.
