Gritty, uncomfortable, and refreshingly direct. It doesn’t glamorize the crime or soften its impact, which gives the film real bite. Rani Mukerji is outstanding, restrained but fierce, playing the cop with controlled anger instead of loud heroics. The villain is genuinely unsettling, the pacing stays tight, and Pradeep Sarkar’s direction keeps the focus on urgency rather than spectacle. It’s not flashy, but it’s effective, grounded, and hits harder because of that. And when you consider it came out so back, it hits even harder.

As an American, I really enjoyed this movie. My only complaint is that the bad guy should have gotten a bigger beating than he did. However, I had to realize that there are cultural differences. Nevertheless, I was very satisfied by the ending. This calls the attention of the still real problem of the sex trafficking of young girls in India.
