It's Rob Zombie enough said!
No plot, bad camera, bad actors, bad director, a typical Rob Zombie movie. Pure bullshit, a waste of lifetime. Don't watch this crap, go out and drink a beer or do something else.
Overall a good movie, definitely has the Rob Zombie feel I was disappointed in the ending though.
Not for the fainthearted. Pervasive language and extreme violence. Typical Rob Zombie movie; the story was just an ultra-violent play on the idea behind _The Most Dangerous Game_ so it wasn't really original. Acting was - as per Rob Zombie movies - mediocre, but let's face it: when you're watching a movie like _31_ you're not watching it for Academy Award-winning performances; you're watching for the blood and guts…and you won't be disappointed here. Although I say (truthfully) that the acting was mediocre, I have to tip my hat and say (in all honesty) that, in my humble opinion, Richard Brake actually DOES deserve an Oscar for his role as Doom-Head. That dude was the ULTIMATE psychopath. Seriously, he played that part beautifully. Hey Rob Zombie, if you're reading this, here's an idea: Give Doom-Head his own flick. He was worth watching this entire (otherwise mediocre) movie for; everything from the opening scene to the ice-cold dismissal of his fat skank to the closing scene, he played that part PERFECTLY. Although the rest of the movie was basically nothing but a kaleidoscope of gruesome violence and little else (there was a kind of a story interwoven in there, but meh... who bothered paying attention?) I'm still sitting here shaking my head and chuckling at how over-the-top Brake was in playing his role. If you've got the stomach for extended scenes of ultra-violent bloodletting - and a couple hours to kill - I say watch this one, but watch it for Doom-Head. There's really nothing else worth even mentioning here but dang, Richard Brake killed it. LOL
31 is about as quintessentially Rob Zombie as a film can get. It’s raw, grimy, violent, and unapologetically twisted. From the brutal kills to the chaotic carnival setting, it wears its grindhouse aesthetic proudly. Sheri Moon Zombie once again takes center stage in a role that feels tailor-made for her, surrounded by a cast of bizarre, deranged characters who make the film’s world feel appropriately unhinged. This isn’t a movie that’s going to win over skeptics—it’s confrontational, offensive at times, and very much a love letter to exploitation horror. But if you’re a fan of Zombie’s earlier works like House of 1000 Corpses or The Devil’s Rejects, 31 delivers exactly what you’re expecting: a bloody, fever-dream carnival ride that’s nasty in all the right ways.
