**Too ridiculous to not enjoy!**
Very lame attempt to be Nightmare on Elm Street. It does have everything good slasher should have but its mixed with some ingredients that shouldnt be there. + guitardrill - "out of place" music - "oh a i like this song" and subsequently singing /and dancing/
"I wanna be your Tokyo convertible..." Not nearly as good as the first, unfortunately. The musical numbers were kinda fun ig
I love campy slashers, I love musicals. I was promised a campy musical slasher. And i got one good musical number to accompany a half decent kill. The entire movie should have been that. It feels like they half-*ss'd a slasher and half-*ss'd a musical. Like they only invested in going a *little* unhinged. They should have leaned into it.
Even though "Slumber Party Massacre II" is a fun slasher in places, the movie is ultimately pretty pointless. Although the killer has a much cooler look than in the first part, his integration into the plot is really nonsensical. And yet, the group of "teenagers" who are the focus here are actually not that bad. However, you can't really get excited because there is never any real sense of danger. Unfortunately, the kills aren't exactly creative either. There is also surprisingly little nudity for an 80s slasher. Overall, I would say that the ingredients for a better movie are definitely there, but the execution is poor.
