Despite not being Hughes' finest movie, _Uncle Buck_ is still a funny, endearing and ultimately moving family movie. I slightly prefer John Candy in the hysterical _Planes, Trains and Automobiles_, but his performance here exudes once again a charm and love that are impossible to resist.

What took me so long to watch this movie? Absolutely delightful, if darker than expected for a "family" film outing, the comedy is solid as is the character interactions. Well worth revisiting. Not Candy or Hughes best movie (that is *Planes, Trains and Automobiles*) but certainly wonderful and worth your time!

Uncle Buck is a solid drama comedy movie. Unfortunately, it has unnecessary bad language. This movie is not family friendly due to the 15 or so swear words. It might not seem like that many for adults, but 15 swear words is 15 too many for my kids or teens to hear. So it's disappointing the director didn't edit the vocabulary more carefully while making this movie.
