To my knowledge, this was the PPV introduction of "Hunter Hearst Helmsley" who would eventually go on to become "Triple H" or "The Game"...and ultimately become Vince McMahon's son-in-law and later, head of the WWE. It's interesting to go back in time and see the introduction/beginning of some of these names who have eventually evolved to become almost household names (and certainly names that are renowned among wrestling fans). In retrospect, I have to give mad props to "Triple H" (Paul Levesque) because he truly made me hate him as a wrestler...and that's the mark of a true professional: someone who can pull off their gimmick so well that, even when you know it's all scripted, you still have trouble disconnecting the storyline from reality. Here, he shows that he's willing to take the bumps, play the part, and do his part to make his opponent look good, and again, I have to give him credit for doing that. _"Fatu's house is the only house I've ever been in where the cockroaches had names."_ 😆 I'm sure most of Jerry Lawler's lines are scripted for him; maybe I'm wrong and maybe Lawler _is_ that quick-witted, but in any case, I have to give credit to whomever came up with THAT line: That. Was. Great! I would never have expected the tagteam match between "Razor Ramon/123 Kid" vs "The Smoking Gunns" to be as entertaining as it was but I have to admit, I sat and watched this almost completely engrossed. This was a superb match, completely entertaining and well worth watching. You knew it was going to have some kind of surprise ending but all-in-all, it was a great match and certainly one that I wouldn't have ever expected. The idiotic hard-selling of WWF merchandise in-between matches by "Doc Hendrix" (Michael Hayes) was completely nauseating, though.... Enough already. I don't know if my funnybone was hyperexposed during this card (I wasn't smoking anything, honest; I watched this at work!) but so many of the ringside comments by Jerry Lawler, Vince McMahon, and yes, even Jim Ross just struck me as hilarious. 0:46:25 (Lawler) _"Well, they're not used to seeing big stars here in Canada..."_ to which Jim Ross replies, _"Wayne Gretzky's from Canada...Monty Hall is from Canada..."_ LOL Does anyone even know who Monty Hall is anymore? I mean, people today probably hear the name "Monty Hall" and think of green beans or canned corn...not the gameshow host from _Let's Make a Deal_ . LOL Seriously, when JR spit that out, I laughed out loud. Also appearing for the first time on a WWE pay-per-view (at least, to my viewing history) was that freak of nature Golddust. (I always hated that character.) The main event was essentially just another build-up to another new storyline; no clear-cut winner but a new story evolving. Frankly, I thought it was better than the other _In Your House_ cards that I've watched. So far, the "IYH" events have stopped short of being real "pay-per-view" status but slightly above the televised house shows that WWF/WWE puts on. This one was about par for the course.
just boring matches overall. yoko and Mabel... yawn. bulldog and diesel, if youblike watching one guy pull on the other guys legs for 20 min......
