Sinopsis
Acusado de un acto de desobediencia que tuvo fatales consecuencias, el venerado general Irwin, un héroe de guerra, es sometido a un consejo de guerra, degradado y encerrado en una prisión militar conocida como 'La fortaleza'. Allí pronto se convierte en el punto de mira del alcaide, el coronel Winter, un hombre de carácter autoritario que comienza a sentirse acomplejado ante el carisma de Irwin con los reclusos.

A decent movie. Too much patriotism always annoys me and plot holes hurt. Very enjoyable for anyone who has a US flag fetish.

I'm sure the plot was fine. At points clever, And it was fun.....ny. Whenever movies are involved with hardcore patriotism it gets kinda hilarious. no offense, it's just how it is.

Hard to believe this movie is already 17 years old. I liked it then and I like it now. It's timeless - it doesn't need to rely on any CGI/SFX. It tells a story. Granted, not one that is original, but you can tell a story more than once if it's told well. You have two great actors facing up against each other althought I think Gandolfini overplayed it a bit. Doesn't matter in the end. All in all worth the two hours. I didn't even mind the pathos and patriotism dripping at the end.
