It was a comedic movie that incorporates satire very well. It may have been a lower-budget film, but it was a good effort that is very light-hearted for anyone.
Definitely one of my favorite queer movies ever. Lesbian Rights! Hello lesbians! Also RuPaul pretending to be an ex-gay. Far too much! Such a fun watch. Loved the acting performances. And just all around good.
Watch this movie as the satire that it is, that way it's a great movie to watch feeling mellow with no desire to watch Yet Another Gay Drama™.
The first 15 or so minutes are pure gold, but after that it goes downhill fast.
[8.5/10] My friends would be shocked to learn I hadn’t seen this one till now. I knew I’d like it, but I didn’t really know what to expect beyond that. Can you believe it was an absolute delight?! It's a simple story, short and focused. The whole look and vibe of the movie are memorable, kinda surreal—vivid colors, exaggerated settings, and characters that are over-the-top in the best way. It’s playful, but the themes are pretty meaningful and grounded, which allows for it to hit harder than you might expect. I laughed a lot, and by the end, I even cried a little. Watching someone finally accept themselves for who they are is so powerful, and it left me feeling very hopeful and seen. A joy to watch!
