A stoner-comedy musical, based on the infamous propaganda film _Reefer Madness_ (1938). I am by no means a fan of musicals, but even I have to admit that this one does a great job. However, it does go on a bit long; I think it needed fifteen to twenty minutes shaved off. On to the movie itself: This is a faithful adaptation of the original, only with the obvious spoofing of how ridiculous it was. If you haven't seen the original, no big deal, this will still make sense, though you might not understand the context for the joke itself. So, what is this like? Well, think _Chicago_ (2002), as far as the music and dancing is concerned. In regard to the humor, think more _Little Shop of Horrors_ (1986), and _The Rocky Horror Picture Show_ (1975). The movie is actually very funny, so, as a stoner comedy, it is good. The song and dance numbers are also very good, but not for me. Do I remember any of the songs and love them like I do songs from _Anna and the Apocalypse_ (2017)? Not even close. The highlights for me were Ana Gasteyer screaming "rape me" at the top of her lungs, Kristen Bell looking absolutely adorable, and John Kassir as an insane pothead. Totally recommended for fans of stoner comedies or goofy musicals.
