Bullock’s character Annie didn’t like that Jack (Keanu Reeves) gave her pepper spray that she mistook for perfume ?? So they broke up, she explains. Now she’s with another gun-ho cop named Alex Shaw (Jason Patric) who must work with Jack. Since Joe Morton is back and works with Shaw, like he did Jack. Except Jack isn’t in this. Annie and Alex go on a cruise where there’s a bad guy of course who took over it. With the same plot as the first but with a ship now. Keanu’s acting didn’t get much credit in the first but he was more memorable than Patric at least. He also had much better chemistry with Bullock. If he was back though, this movie still would of stunk or should I say, sunk ?
A VERY GOOD MOVIE TO WATCH
While the first Speed movie is a classic that I highly recommend, this one is probably one of the worst sequels to a successful first movie, that was every made. For hardcore fans only.
An insipid piece of garbage, _Speed 2: Cruise Control_ is over the top and incredibly stupid. When Annie Porter goes on a Caribbean cruise with her new boyfriend, the ship is taken over by a terrorist. Sandra Bullock, Jason Patric, and Willem Dafoe lead the cast, but not one of them gives a decent performance. And the writing is just terrible; especially the dialog. Still, some of the action is entertaining. _Speed 2: Cruise Control_ is formulaic tripe that tries to be as big and as loud as it can, without any regard for the story or the characters.
