I miss her so much.
This is a wonderful heartwarming uplift story about a young spoiled woman who gets her life, turned upside down when after her money is gone. She hast to take a job as a nanny for a little girl that soon starts to remind herself of her younger self. The way their relationship is developed throughout the whole movie, and the way that both characters wore introduced is a great plot development. The casting of both at characters are great. Yes it’s not the greatest movie in the world and it’s not going to blow your socks off, but it definitely keeps your heart at the edge of its seat.
Sometimes all you need is someone, no matter who it is, to believe in you and hold your hand during the tough times for you to be able to find the strength and courage you need to grow into the best possible version of yourself. This movie, with its unlikely duo of a woman who never grew up and a little girl who grew up too fast, showed that beautifully❤
[8/10] I’ve loved _Uptown Girls_ since it came out, and even after more than 20 years, it still gets me every time. It’s such a touching story. Watching the bond between Molly and Ray grow feels so genuine—you can’t help but believe they’ll be lifelong friends. As a teenager, I didn’t mind Neal’s subplot, but on this rewatch, he felt unnecessary. I get that music was meant to be a big part of the story, but it could’ve been handled differently. The tea cup ride and the final performance are easily my favorite moments, though I wish Neal had picked a different song at the end. It’s beautiful and moving, but felt very self-serving given Molly's reaction the last time he tried to sing it to her. In any case, this is a movie I’ll keep coming back to. It’s emotional, charming, and perfect for anyone who is, was, or knows a young girl.
Dr House’s Chase lowkey ruined Ray’s solo performance, I was ready to start weeping 😭 Brittany Murphy you are always in our hearts 💗
