Like phone sex: kinda creepy, kinda exciting, and highlights the difference between men and women where the men don't come out looking too good. Reminiscent of _Den skyldige_ / _The Guilty_, and also (to a lesser extent) _The Call_ and _Phone Both_, _Confidante_ is a chamber thriller that takes place over the phone from the perspective of a sex-line worker. As such, the film's effectiveness rests solely on the shoulders / voice of the lead, Saadet Işıl Aksoy, who rises to the challenge with brio. Directed by the same duo (Çağla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti) who brought us the impressive _Sibel_, this mid-length feature (at 76 minutes) captivates.
