The German adaptation of "The Office" (which came out even before the American version) was something entirely unique back in the day. Above all, for me, there was nothing—either before or after "Stromberg"—that made me feel so much secondhand embarrassment. The movie continuation later served as the perfect finishing touch. In contrast, this new attempt to revive the show doesn't work at all. After all, “Stromberg” was already a commentary on questionable gender roles and the absurdity of everyday work routines in the German office landscape. The new film, on the other hand, is far too meta and acts as if all of that had actually been meant seriously back then. The characters still work, but they belong in an office, not in a TV studio. And the whole streaming nonsense could have been left out entirely. Consequently, "Stromberg – Wieder alles wie immer" really wasn’t necessary. I definitely do not recommend it.

Boah... selten was überflüssigeres gesehen.

Puhh… alles sehr „underwhelming“, ziemlich ruhig und belanglos. Man begleitet Stromberg bei seiner Lebenskrise, garniert von allzu offensichtlicher Gesellschaftskritik (Themen z. B. Wokeness, Social Media, Gleichberechtigung, …). Ich befürchte, selbst Stromberg-Ultra-Fans werden mit dem Einschlafen zu Kämpfen haben - und werden letztlich doch verstehen: Stromberg als personifizierte Rassismus-, Sexismus- und Whatever-ismus-Schleuder kannste heute nicht mehr bringen und wird zurecht schneller weg gecancelt als du den Erni mobben kannst. Ein paar kleine Sprüche zündeten ein wenig, aber nicht mehr als ein paar Funken.

The first Stromberg movie didn't work for me, and this one is no different. But even for fans of the series – and I could watch the TV series over and over again – the remake simply isn't funny. There were a few scenes that made me chuckle, but most of the story was simply frustrating.

Hatte ein bisschen Angst, aber der neue Stromberg Film wurde gut ins Jahr 2025 transportiert. Sehr gelungene Fortsetzung, imho. War schön, die alten Gesichter und deren Entwicklung nochmal zu sehen. Kann man gucken. Also, wenn man Stromberg damals mochte 😄
