Obligatory to watch after the original (2003) Fullmetal Alchemist series. It's a beautiful work that closes this story arc, even if it fails to achieve all expectations - which leads to my 9 instead of a perfect 10.

as an ending it doesn’t quite hit the same emotional or thematic heights as the show. The story isn’t as deep, the character development feels thinner, and some characters just get thrown around without the weight they had before. That said, the animation is absolutely incredible. It’s top-tier work, gorgeous visuals, fluid motion, and genuinely stunning fight sequences. If only the 2003 series had looked this good all the way through. The film’s pacing is solid, it keeps moving without dragging, and overall it works as an acceptable farewell to that version of the story. It’s not perfect, more style than substance at times, but as a visual send-off, it delivers.

Sometimes it's better to let characters die off rather than spinning them into a ww2 action movie lol
