Sinopsis
The Kid, un músico pobre y atormentado por los problemas familiares, reproduce el maltrato que su padre da a su madre en su relación amorosa. Luchando por sobrevivir a una turbulenta vida familiar y a su propia ira, su talento se refugia en su música y en su relación con la cantante Apollonia. Además, la tensión aumenta cuando su rival intenta conquistar a su novia y obtener la exclusividad del bar donde ambos cantan.

I first saw this when Prince died and didn't think much of it then. Watching the new 4k now and as a fan and the movie is a blast (and yes, it's problematic by modern standards). Would love to see it on the big screen with an audience.

OK, so the music's good. But that's on the album, so what about the film? Well, they lost me when [spoiler]the abusive Kid beats Apollonia to the floor, just like his abusive father did before; oh, and what about that scene where the scantily clad female is abandoned alone in the night under the bridge? – pretty disgusting too…[/spoiler] The treatment of women actually made me think of those old James Bond movies, and that's not a good thing. Beautiful scenic drive in Minnesota, though.
