A reminder of just how exploitative and tragic the child star industry is. The subjects were surprisingly frank, and the reckoning with their pasts were the most interesting parts of this doc. And I appreciated the segments contextualizing this current moment through history and how we got here. This wider scope should’ve been kept up- where this doc falters is how often it feels the need to go back to and center Demi. Their story is interesting and affecting too, but it feels like the film needs to pick a lane in whether it’s focusing on them or on child stars as a whole. And by straddling the line, neither side truly gets to shine. That combined with the need to tie a tidy happy bow on all of this holds the film back from being more than just a reminder of what many of us already know and instead a truly revealing and raw dive into the industry.

i don't think I really learned anything new from this documentary as I've known for a while how messed up the industry is, especially for child stars. This was upsetting in parts to see what has happened to all these talented people who never asked for this to be done to them.

Demi Lovato stars in ANOTHER documentary explaining why she became an uncontrollable brat who also almost lost her life to a heroin overdose. Every time she messes up she does a documentary on why it happened and how she has it under control now. I 'll admit the First one for the backup dancer she punched I had sympathy. Then she did a 2nd for her drug overdose, now she has this one that adds her to the recently released viral Child Star abuse documentary. Interesting way to take on another Re-invention.

This was a really good look into childhood fame and the impact it has on a person. I think it works well as a companion piece to Quiet On Set. I appreciated a lot hearing more from Drew Barrymore and actually learned a bit from Jojo Siwa and look at her a little differently now. I think this could've been really explosive if more stars from Demis era were involved, but i know that sometimes a relationship is too damaged to come back together and thats okay. This was touching and really well made.
