Can’t say it’s an awesome movie — there are too many clichés throughout, evenly spread across the whole film. The movie itself reminded me of Warrior with Tom Hardy, but with a bit too much drama and too few fights. The fight choreography is good, though — very enjoyable. Russell Crowe still kills it, even when he’s old, fat, and ugly. Great actor. The rest of the cast is okay too, and the main character reminds me a lot of Hugh Jackman. The actress playing his wife is very attractive.

Better Movies Out There. An MMA fight movie that literally throws in every possible story arc. The multiple potential directions make the story unnecessarily long. The majority of the fight sequences are sloppy, and the training montage is uninspiring. The one hour and fifty-four minute runtime is unnecessary. There are far better MMA, boxing, fighting, and sports movies available to watch.

I was looking forward to showing my dad this one and tonight I had the chance to do exactly that. I knew he’d be completely into this. We have such similar taste in movies. The performances are good and the choreography was very well done. This one definitely packed a strong punch. I really hope this gets a physical media release and I can add it to the collection eventually.
