A 1 hour 40 min snooze fest. predictable and boring. Even Eli Roth couldn't save this one.
Expected a hell of a lot more with Roth being in this …very bad movie
A superb Australian tactical thriller that kept me fully engaged. Even when I got distracted during a few scenes, I found myself rewinding to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. The remote farm setting adds to the tension, which the film sustains effectively from start to finish. Pretty sure, I’ll watch this movie again after some time and enjoy it. Hence my 8/10 rating.
Seven Snipers feels like a low-budget action thriller that never quite rises above its premise. The plot is extremely straightforward and unfolds in a mostly linear fashion, offering few surprises along the way. While Radha Mitchell is a capable actress, she struggles to carry the entire film on her shoulders, especially when the script gives her little character development to work with. The supporting cast is serviceable, but few of the performances leave much of an impression. The standout is Tim Roth. Every time he appears on screen, the movie gains energy and tension. His villain brings a sense of menace and professionalism that the rest of the film often lacks. Without Roth, the movie would likely fade into the crowded direct-to-streaming action market. The action sequences are competent but rarely exciting, and the film never fully exploits the “seven elite snipers” concept. Several characters feel interchangeable, and the emotional stakes remain shallow. To the film’s credit, the Australian countryside provides a distinctive backdrop, and the runtime moves quickly enough that it never becomes painful to watch. Still, the movie feels more like an extended B-movie cable thriller than a memorable action film. Ultimately, I stayed with it mostly to find out who lived and who died. Beyond that curiosity, there isn’t much here that lingers after the credits roll.
Terrible. Clunky dialogue - in two lines one character says "though" twice; replacing the last with 'either' would have sounded more like someone actually read it once. A large team of snipers must be able to fend off one, right? Must know enough about counter-sniping? Um, no. Characters move about the grounds for little reason (other than plot). The lead is unconvincing as a runner, let alone anything else, and the daughter's perma-pout is very odd. Felt like characters got killed off in order of who could actually act most, which makes sense for production reasons, but isn't actually good. Mostly boring.
