I had been looking forward to this but the absolutely terrible script and weak acting was just too hard to get past. Gave up after an hour and a quarter as I found nothing compelling.

A lot better than the last Jurassic park film! A blast from beginning to end, and didn’t feel overly long. Very enjoyable.

I went into this with expectations of having a good time and I’m happy to say it was a fun time. It’s a bit long and had some pacing issues throughout but it’s still a lot of fun. The dinosaurs looked pretty good for the most part. There are some moments where the CGI looked pretty bad but it never bothered me. It felt a lot like the new ‘Jurassic World’ movie at times but at least adds more violence and gore. The script is probably the weakest part about this movie. The characters are all decent. The performances are exactly what you’d expect from something like this. The final act is easily the best and most explosive part of this movie. It’s absolutely ridiculous, insane and a total blast. I’m just happy this was very entertaining and a really fun time. * Double Feature at AMC Crestwood 18

Primitive War feels like the fever dream of someone who watched Apocalypse Now and thought, “Needs more velociraptors.” All the Nam film essentials are here: choppers thundering through the jungle, classic rock on the soundtrack, and a heavy dose of grit and gallows humour. The dialogue leans into the era’s rough language, grounding the absurd premise in the sweaty realism of war cinema. The dinosaur action delivers exactly what you want: chaotic, gory mayhem. The CGI isn’t blockbuster-level, but it’s good enough to sell the carnage, and the effects team clearly prioritised spectacle over polish. When the creatures hit, they hit. The finale cranks everything to eleven with an utterly bonkers set piece that feels like something from a video game but in the best way. It runs a touch long, but when it’s this gloriously excessive, that’s easy to forgive. Primitive War is proof that sometimes, all you need for a good time is gunfire, guitar solos, and a few hungry dinosaurs. If you liked… Predator, Jurassic Park, Tropic Thunder.

I decided to give it a try simply because it was a sci-fi movie. I didn't like it. I got bored watching it. I abandoned it a few times. I fast-forwarded through it. The acting was decent, the effects were good, the script was dark and a bit slow. If you like this kind of film, I'd still give it a try. The film wasn't really my cup of tea. Anyway, kudos to you for your efforts.
